Looking after your skin

Don’t be disheartened. After having worked so hard to lose weight, you can be left with unsightly sagging or lose skin.  There are things you can do to tone the skin and get it back into shape.  Everyone want to be thin and toned these days, people go to any lengths to lose weight.  The most effective way is in a moderate and healthy manner.  For most people even with a normal weight loss diet, this can have an effect on our skin and cause skin issues.

One of the top issues is loosening of skin, dullness and many more.  Your skin needs moisture to stay supple.  You’ll need to drink plenty of water, its recommended that we drink up to 8 glasses a day, although don’t overdo it as drinking too much water can dissolve electrolytes and salts the your body.

Moisturising

Using a moisturiser with Aloe Vera (Berbadensis) Leaf Juice, a natural product that’s packed with vitamins, minerals and is good for tightening up skin after weight loss. Use a good moisturiser such as avaj tightening moisturiser cream.  Moisturising daily will keep your skin supple and soft this will help the skin fit better to your new shape.  Using a moisturiser with vitamins will also help new skin cells grow and stop wrinkles and marks forming.

Body Butters are a brilliant way to tighten skin before, during and after weight loss.  They’re a great way to moisturiser your skin and promote the production of collagen and elastin.  Cocoa butter and shea butters are two of the best known and should be used daily to soften up the skin. Eat Protein

Eat lots of Protein, an increase in the amount of protein in your diet will encourage the production of more collagen in your skin. This will also as help build muscle.  If your skin has more elasticity. And you build new muscle underneath, this will help to reduce the appearance of sagging skin.

Exfoliate

Exfoliating your skin is crucial whilst losing weight. It helps the circulation and promotes new skin growth. In fact you can scrub off almost 0.5lbs of dead skin from your body in a day. Even after dieting, its still good to exfoliate and keep your skin looking and feeling fresh. Try our body scrub.

You should also try dry body brushing, it’s a great way to get the blood flowing to your skin.  Brush your skin daily with a natural bristle brush, this will firm up the loose skin, help loosen dead skin cells, so newer tighter skin can grow in its place.

The best way to avoid loose skin, is to lose weight gradually, while your losing weight put into practice a daily skincare routine. If you lose weight gradually, keep your body and skin well hydrated, your skin will contract in line with the amount of weight you lose. The worst thing you can do is to lose weight quickly, put it back on again, then go on another crash diet. Take time, drink plenty of water, exfoliate and moisturise.
